| | | | ANSWER: The typical day will begin with breakfast being served between 7:30 - 8:45 am. We leave for skiing around 9:00 am, and ski until 4:30 - 5:00 o clock, with a lunch break around mid day for an hour or so. After après ski activities, we normally return to the hotel for dinner which is being served between 6:30 - 7:30 pm. ANSWER: Nothing beats skiing as preparation for our program. The more skiing you can get in before the trip the better off you are.If you can't get much skiing in before the trip, or maybe no skiing, then being in good general shape will be very helpful. Being on a regular work-out program and in particular doing exercises specifically designed for skiing is recommended. If you need further help with specific things you can do to prepare for our program, please contact us and we will be happy to advise you. ANSWER: This is a free-skiing trip where you will ski mostly at your own pace, so if you are generally in good health and shape, you should be fine. The mountain guiding and clinics will also be tailored to your specific ability and fitness levels, so no need to worry.If you are an expert or professional skier and want to take full advantage of Thomas Gardtman's tours of the mountains and clinics, it is recommended that you be in excellent physical shape with good endurance. ANSWER: There are numerous excellent sport & ski shops in the Lake Tahoe area, where you can rent equipment, or buy anything you don't have or would like to replace. ANSWER: It can change from being clear and sunny to stormy winter conditions very quickly. Therefore, bring lighter as well as heavier clothing. Bring a warm jacket, ski pants, ski suit, or whatever your preference. Good sunglasses, sunscreen, good gloves and hats are also important. Other useful items are sweaters of varying thickness and fleece jackets and vests for layering. Also, if you plan to participate in other activities, such as swimming or tennis, or work-out in other ways, bring appropriate clothing for these events. You may also want to include in the wardrobe some attire appropriate for clubs or evenings out. The hotel does provide a hairdryer for each room. ANSWER: The weather in April varies. It is mostly nice and sunny, with some periods of snow storms. In other words, expect great blue skied days coupled with some snowy days and winter like conditions (and perhaps even some powder skiing). ANSWER: Single rooms can be an option. This depends on the hotel’s availability. There will also be a single room surcharge. If you would like your own room, please make requests early, and we will check with the hotel for availability.
